This article explains how to start using Keyword Researcher from beginning to end. It is designed for new users who want clear guidance on access requirements, credits, marketplace differences, session limits, and what to expect when running a keyword search.
Keyword Researcher is part of the Listing Management module and helps you discover and evaluate search keywords for Amazon and Walmart listings.
Before running your first keyword search, ensure the following:
You have access to the Listing Management module in your plan.
The relevant marketplace (Amazon or Walmart) is connected.
You have at least 1 Listing Management credit available.
You are not in demo or impersonation mode (write actions are disabled in demo mode).
ALERT:

Viewing sessions, filtering keywords, and saving to banks do not consume additional credits for the session itself.
Keyword Researcher works for both Amazon and Walmart, but behavior differs by marketplace.
Amazon:
Allows optional ASIN selection to improve keyword relevance.
Shows search query volume, gross revenue, and CTR where available.
Uses a last 4-week date range for session data.
May allow Search Query Performance (SQP) import if data is available.
Walmart:
Does not support ASIN selection.
Does not display search query volume, gross revenue, or CTR in the same way as Amazon.
Uses a last 30-day date range for session data.
Does not support SQP import.

Follow these steps to run a new keyword search:
Select the marketplace (Amazon or Walmart).
(Amazon only) Optionally enter a valid 10-character ASIN to focus keyword relevance.
Optionally select a Pre-Applied Filter if available.
Enter a seed keyword (3–100 characters, must include at least one letter).
If available, choose a search mode (All, Balanced, or Any).
Click “Search Keywords.”
If successful:
The system starts a background session.
The session status may show “Yet to start” or “In progress.”
Most sessions complete within a few minutes.
Each session moves through different states:
Yet to start – The session is queued.
In progress – The system is extracting and processing keywords.
Updating – Metrics are being refreshed.
Completed – Results are ready to view.
Failed – The session did not complete successfully.
NOTE:

The system applies several checks before allowing actions:
Session creation:
Seed keyword must be 3–100 characters.
Seed keyword must contain at least one letter.
Only 2 sessions can run concurrently.
At most 2 Pre-Applied Filters can be used (1 Always Apply + 1 additional).
You must have at least 1 credit available.
Saving keywords:
You must select at least 1 keyword.
You can save a maximum of 1000 keywords at a time.
New keyword bank names must be unique (case-insensitive).
Deleting:
Sessions in “Yet to start,” “In progress,” or “Updating” cannot be deleted.
Demo users cannot perform delete or other write actions.
Once a session is completed:
Open the session to view summary metrics and discovered keywords.
Use Include or Exclude filters to refine the keyword list.
Apply metric filters such as search frequency rank, search volume (Amazon), or click potential.
Switch between “All keywords” and “Highly relevant keywords” if available.
Sort and customize columns as needed.

To reuse keywords later:
Select between 1 and 1000 keywords.
Click “Save keywords.”
Choose an existing bank or create a new one.
Confirm the action.
Keyword banks are marketplace-specific and can be reused in Listing Management tools.
If you want refreshed performance metrics:
Open a completed session.
Click “Update metrics.”
Confirm the action.
The session status will change to “Updating” while metrics refresh.
WARNING:

Keyword extraction runs in the background. Results are not real-time.
The session list may refresh automatically when status changes.
The Refresh option is available when sessions are still processing.
If a session appears stuck for an extended period, refresh the list or contact support.
