KwickMetrics Profit Management for Sellers

Profit Management Overview: Financial Dashboard, P&L Statement, and Storage Fees

Overview

Profit Management in KwickMetrics is designed to help sellers understand true historical profitability across Amazon and Walmart accounts.

It combines three connected components:

1. Financial Dashboard
2. Profit & Loss Statement
3. Storage Fees Report (Amazon only)

Together, these components provide structured financial visibility — from high-level profitability signals to detailed line-item analysis — enabling sellers to clearly understand how revenue, fees, costs, and expenses translate into Net Profit.

Profit Management explains what has already happened during a selected period based on synced marketplace and financial data. It does not predict future outcomes.

Explanation

Profit Management is structured as a layered financial analysis system.

Instead of presenting a single report, it provides three complementary views of profitability:

1. A summary layer (Financial Dashboard)
2. A structured financial statement layer (Profit & Loss Statement)
3. A focused cost layer (Storage Fees Report for Amazon)

These layers serve different analytical purposes:

1. The Financial Dashboard highlights profitability signals — top profit makers, top loss makers, and major expense contributors — allowing sellers to quickly detect where attention is needed.
2. The Profit & Loss Statement provides a hierarchical financial breakdown, showing how revenue and each expense category contribute to the final Net Profit.
3. The Storage Fees Report isolates Amazon FBA storage costs so sellers can understand inventory-related cost impact separately from other marketplace fees.

By separating overview insights, detailed financial structure, and specialized cost reporting, Profit Management enables sellers to move from quick financial visibility to precise financial investigation without losing clarity.

How the Three Components Support Profit Management

1. Financial Dashboard

Purpose: Provide a high-level summary of financial performance.

   How it helps:

   1. Highlights top profit-making products.
   2. Identifies products generating losses.
   3. Shows which expense categories contribute most to total costs.
   4. Displays profitability distribution for the selected period.

The dashboard is used for quick financial assessment before deeper analysis.

2. Profit & Loss Statement

Purpose: Deliver a structured, line-by-line financial breakdown.

   How it helps:

   1. Shows complete revenue and expense components.
   2. Allows profitability analysis by date grouping or product grouping.
   3. Displays progressive calculations leading to Net Profit.
   4. Supports reconciliation and detailed margin analysis.

This is the core financial report used to understand how profitability is calculated.

3. Storage Fees Report (Amazon Only)

Purpose: Provide a dedicated view of Amazon storage-related costs.

   How it helps:

   1. Separates monthly and long-term storage fees from other marketplace charges.
   2. Helps sellers understand the impact of FBA inventory storage on margins.
   3. Supports cost control decisions related to inventory management.

Storage fees apply only to Amazon Fulfilled (AFN) inventory and are not available for Walmart accounts.

Usage

Sellers use Profit Management to:

1. Determine whether a selected time period was profitable.
2. Identify which products drive profit or loss.
3. Understand how fees, ads, promotions, and COGS affect margins.
4. Compare performance across days, weeks, or months.
5. Evaluate the financial impact of storage fees for Amazon FBA inventory.
6. Export financial data for accounting or internal review.

Profit Management supports analysis at:

1. Account level.
2. Product level.
3. Date level.

Summary

Profit Management in KwickMetrics provides a structured system for understanding historical profitability. It combines:

1. The Financial Dashboard for high-level insights.
2. The Profit & Loss Statement for detailed financial analysis.
3. The Storage Fees Report for Amazon FBA storage cost visibility.

By separating overview, detailed breakdown, and focused cost analysis, the module helps sellers clearly understand where revenue is generated, where costs occur, and how those factors determine final Net Profit.
