Managing Templates in Listing Optimiser: Creation, Editing, and Usage in Bulk Optimisation

Overview

Templates in Listing Optimiser define reusable listing structures that can be applied across multiple products during bulk optimisation. They help standardise titles, descriptions, bullet points, search terms, and variant placeholders, ensuring consistency while reducing manual effort.

Templates are a core dependency for Bulk Listing Optimisation.

Explanation

A template represents the structural framework of a listing. It contains static listing content along with dynamic placeholders for variant-specific attributes. During bulk optimisation, these placeholders are populated with product-level values provided by the user.

Templates can be created from an optimised single product and then reused, edited, or deleted as needed. Each template is associated with a specific marketplace and can only be used for that marketplace.

Usage

Templates should be used when:

  1. Multiple products share a similar listing format.

  2. Sellers want to apply proven listing structures consistently.

  3. Bulk optimisation is required for variants such as size, color, or pack count.

  4. Listing formats need to be centrally managed and reused.

Steps

Creating a Template

  1. Complete a single product optimisation.

  2. Open the single product result page.

  3. Click Make as template.

  4. Provide a template name.

  5. Define variant placeholders if required.

  6. Review the pre-filled listing content.

  7. Save the template.

Viewing or Editing a Template

  1. Navigate to Listing Management → Listing Optimiser → Templates.

  2. Locate the required template in the list.

  3. Click View to see template details in read-only mode.

  4. Click Edit to modify the template name, content, or placeholders.

  5. Save the changes.

Deleting a Template

  1. Go to the Templates tab.

  2. Select the template to be removed.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion.

Important Rules and Behavior

  1. Templates can only be created from single product optimisation results.

  2. Template name is mandatory.

  3. Templates are marketplace-specific and cannot be used across different marketplaces.

  4. Deleting a template removes it from future bulk optimisation sessions.

  5. Templates currently in use by existing bulk sessions remain unaffected.

  6. In demo or impersonation mode, template creation, editing, and deletion are disabled.

Prerequisites

  1. Access to the Listing Management module.

  2. Completed single product optimisation.

  3. Bulk optimisation feature enabled for the account.

Summary

Templates enable scalable and consistent listing optimisation by separating listing structure from product-specific data. Proper template management helps sellers streamline bulk workflows, maintain uniformity across listings, and reduce repetitive optimisation effort.
