Overview
This article explains the prerequisites, access requirements, credit usage, and marketplace behavior required to start using Keyword Tracker. Understanding these conditions helps ensure tracking runs smoothly and avoids unexpected restrictions.
Explanation
Keyword Tracker operates within the Listing Management module and relies on account access, feature availability, marketplace integration, and Listing Management credits. Tracking behavior is scoped by marketplace, and credit availability directly affects whether keyword syncs can run immediately or must be scheduled.
Before adding products or enabling tracking, users must ensure their account meets all required conditions.
Usage
Users should review these requirements when:
Accessing Keyword Tracker for the first time.
Troubleshooting restricted actions such as disabled syncs or tracking toggles.
Managing credits and understanding why a sync cannot run immediately.
Switching between different marketplaces (Amazon or Walmart).
Prerequisites
User must be logged in to a valid KwickMetrics account.
User must have access to the Listing Management module based on their plan and permissions.
Keyword Tracker feature must be enabled for the account.
At least one marketplace channel must be integrated.
The user must be operating within a valid account context (account slug in the URL).
NOTE: If module access or the feature flag is disabled, the system may display a restricted or placeholder page instead of Keyword Tracker.
Marketplace Selection Behavior
Keyword Tracker data is scoped by marketplace.
Users must select a marketplace channel from the marketplace dropdown.
Only integrated channels for the selected marketplace type (Amazon or Walmart) are displayed.
Switching the marketplace reloads the product list, sync status, and credit usage for that channel.
Tracking status and keyword rankings are maintained separately for each marketplace.
Credits and Sync Behavior
Keyword Tracker uses credits from the shared Listing Management credit pool.
Credit consumption depends on the number of tracked keywords and the sync frequency.
Credits are required to run keyword syncs.
If available credits are insufficient:
“Run sync now” actions may be disabled.
A credit warning banner or modal may be shown.
Scheduled syncs may still be allowed depending on credit availability at the scheduled time.
WARNING: If credits are fully exhausted, keyword tracking data will not update until credits are added.
Summary
To use Keyword Tracker effectively, users must have Listing Management access, an enabled Keyword Tracker feature, integrated marketplaces, and sufficient credits. Marketplace selection determines where rankings are tracked, while credits control when syncs can run. Verifying these prerequisites ensures uninterrupted keyword tracking and accurate ranking data.
